  • Simran + Mani – Next/Same Day Edit

Every bride wants her wedding to be uniquely special and memorable. There wee weddings that stand out because of their breathtaking decor, while others are for a delicious menu and then there are those weddings that are just specialbecause of the love shared between the couple and their families.

Simran + Mani’s wedding was memorable because it so beautifully encompassed each of these components, if not more.

One thing that stood out the most was Simran’s breathtaking outfits for each of her event. From her engagement to sangeet followed by ceremony and two receptions, each of her outfit was different. She pretty much wowed all present. Her desire to do something creative was demonstrated at every event.

Ultimately, what made Simran + Mani stand out as a couple was their strength of confidence and attention to detail, as this Next / Same Day edit illustrates. Mani’s calm, collected demeanor is the perfect balance to Simran’s bubbly personality. In our opinion, this couple had an ideal harmony of elements to make their wedding definitely worth remembering.

  • Vikas + Shikha – Next / Same Day Edit

Vikas and Shikha had one of those timeless, feel-good weddings with all of the right ingredients to make it a classic; colorful details, planned surprises and sweeping amounts of love were the focal points of their events.

Both the bride and groom come from a tightly woven circle of family and friends and their participation in the couple’s wedding was a testament to how special they are to them. The bride’s sisters played an important role in the organization of each function, so a note to all of the prospective brides out there- believe it or not, you don’t have to do it ALL by yourself for it to be perfect. Sometimes, as in Shikha’s experience, your loved ones know you best.

Vikas too, is fortunate to be surrounded by a group who dotes on him. His groomsmen were constantly by his side, ensuring all went smoothly under their careful watch. From setting the tone for Vikas’ debonair entrance in a Lamborghini to their knack for cracking jokes to punctuate those rare but golden moments of pre-wedding jitters. That nervousness did not last for long however. Take one look at the adoring gaze Vikas captures his bride in as she makes her way down the aisle toward him- these are the moments that make our job so much more worth it.

It was a pleasure working with this terrific couple and their loving family and we wish them all of the best as they progress into the next exciting chapter of their lives together. Our cameras are ready when you are!

  • Ritu + Hardip – Next / Same Day Edit

The wedding of Ritu + Hardip was a loving event filled with warm moments between friends and family. There was a mutual understanding between the bride and groom, for even its tiniest details spoke volumes about who they were as a couple.

The couple exchanged smiles and chatted during their separate entrances in the gurdwara which is a rarity. Elegant, stunning and full of heart- from colours and decor to the beautiful outfits of their wedding party- it was evident that Ritu and Hardip cared just as much about those dearest to them.

The couple made sure that everyone was included and enjoying themselves as much as they did. Ritu and Hardip were married with the greatest blessing, the overwhelming warmth and support of two very loving families.

Overall, sense of family was very much felt and celebrated by all present, and the jesting and merriment did not cease for a moment not even between the best friend and the bride.

  • Rishi + Radhika – Next / Same Day Edit

Weddings, you say? Well, they are all about the bride of course!

These days, not so much. Times are changing, grooms- to-be are becoming a much more heard and important voice in the wedding planning process, and why not- it is just as much their day to shine. In the case of Rishi and Radhika, it might have very well seemed as if it was all about the groom, and to add even more of a plot twist for our readers, Radhika was loving every minute of her groom’s spotlight. Who says brides don’t know how to share the glory of their moment?

Rishi and Radhika’s union is especially dear to me, as I have known Rishi for almost 6 years. He has been a guest at numerous weddings that our team has worked over the years and we have covered such a large number of weddings within his own family that I seem to have lost track after the eighth

This couple possesses a very balanced dynamic that helped them tremendously with the stress that often accompanies preparing for the big day. Vibrant and full of energy, Rishi was an enthusiastic perfectionist when it came to making sure that all of the details would seamlessly come together for the events. Radhika was always on hand, calm and collected, and readily available to assure Rishi that while events are rarely ever 100% of the way you expect, they are always entirely yours to make the best of. In that vein, they are only a disappointment if you allow them to be. Rishi is lucky to have such a wise lady by his side.

With my utmost love and respect, I would like to wish this special couple only the best that married life has to offer, and I have a hunch that I will be seeing them very soon, again.

  • Bhavi + Nina – Next/ Same Day Edit

In affairs such as weddings, while it is much easier said than done, things are likely to go a great deal smoother if there is a general sense of calm about the place. (This can also greatly add to your value as a bridesmaid or groomsman if you manage to do this for your highly anxious bride and/or groom- rack up those brownie points and make it count that they chose you!)

Such was the case with Bhavi and Nina’s wedding weekend, inclusive of pre-wedding events and finally two completely different ceremonies, all in the same day. It helps of course, that our bride and groom were completely trusting in the entire process and confident that they were surrounded by the best quality of family, friends and vendors to share in and contribute to their big day.

The wedding was a combination of Sikh and Hindu traditions and with a lot of careful and thoughtful coordinating, each ceremony took place at its respective temple in one day. The functions were intimate, respectfully planned and equally solemn- a noteworthy tribute to who Bhavi and Nina are as individuals and the kind of balanced union upon which they have embarked.

Not only did this couple know to expect the best from their day, but they knew how to travel in high style as well. A shiny white Maybach was their impressive method of travel for the day, and truth be told/ the first day of the rest of their lives, never looked better.

  • Roli + Amit – Next / Same Day Edit

Roli and Amit’s wedding will be remembered long after the bridal trousseau is finally packed away and the last of the Thank You cards are mailed out. It was just THAT kind of wedding.

Loads of fun from start to finish; a swank entrance in a ferrari by the groom, the catchy, groovin moves’ of a vibrant bridal party and the heartfelt emotion that swept the room as the bride made her way down the aisle- there were all kinds of ooh and ahh moments that left guests crying, laughing and begging for more.

Weddings we often hear, are supposed to be about the bride and groom. It is, after all, a time for them to look their finest as they celebrate their nuptials in a style signature to them, surrounded by those they love the most. Roly and Amit are clearly two individuals who have their friends and family rooting for them,  just as much as they are rooting for each other. This was especially evident in how emotionally invested their relatives and friends appeared at each event. On top of that, their guests arrived dressed to the nines and ready to party- everyone was going to part of the merrymaking.

Moments of endearing poignance, mischievous fun and joyful celebration were the perfect undertones to carefully planned, and stunningly arranged backdrops and decor.

At the heart of a roaring good time, it was noticeable that a peaceful awe and sense of ceremony would surface ever so often. As history would have it, a good balance is always key to a healthy, successful marriage. What a way to start one! Congrats to Roli and Amit!

  • James + Jessica – Wedding Film – Shot on 3 RED EPICS in 4k

All Music is Copyright to following Artists & respected Labels

JUST THE WAY YOU ARE – BRUNO MARS
AUDIOMACHINE – ABOVE AND BEYOND, SWITCH – AEON
    BEYONCE – AT LAST

Before we get to our couple’s wedding day story, we would like to just provide a brief background about the cameras and the technology used to capture this beautiful and elegant 4k wedding film.

The individuals that do know what 4k resolution stands for must be thinking how did we manage to film a wedding using 3 Red Epic cameras. Just a background for the individuals who don’t know what 4k resolution is, it’s the future of digital video and digital television. HD TV has 1080p resolution which is composed of two million pixels (1920 x 1080), while a 4K TV (aka Ultra High Definition) has over eight million pixels (3840 x 2160). Therefore, 4K has around four times more resolution than 1080p and produces a clearer picture. But in order for you to experience 4k properly you must have a 4k TV or Monitor. Even though cable companies are at least a few years away from broadcasting 4k signal, digital channels like Netflix already has 4k content and iTunes are not too far away from doing so.

In 2013, James and Jessica contacted us to find out if we offered 4k wedding films. During that time, we were already using our Red Epic and Scarlet as our 4th camera for our wedding films, corporate films and documentary film projects. We didn’t really think about using all 4k cameras to capture wedding films since it takes up a lot of data for storage, editing and backup purposes. To put things in perspective, at the wedding we filmed everything in 5k so we are able to work with real state in post production. We had 1.7 TB worth of RED SSDs and 128 gb lasted for 30 minutes. So just imagine how much card swapping we were doing as the wedding day went by. In total, we used 3.1 TB worth of space for footage from all 3 cameras.

The one thing that we didn’t want to jeopardize with so much technology was the story element of their wedding film. We wanted to make sure nothing got lost in the story and that we feel we have done an outstanding job in making sure that story stays above everything else.

On the day of the wedding, we had 3 Red Epics with Cine-Lenses from Canon & Zeiss. We used Cinevate Duzi Slider and Steadicam for our motion shots. For a wedding, we have never had a shot list as we always believe in filming things as they happen and always to our toes to capture the moments. However, when you are dealing with a large amount of data, constantly downloading footage from the SSD Card on to a drive, backing it up and getting that card ready for next set of shoot then you have to be prepared. We had an extensive shot list so we know what needed to be filmed.

There have been Red Epic weddings done by others with a single or two cameras but to our knowledge there hasn’t been one with 3 cameras all filmed on 5k resolution with 4k cameras. Having filmed it in 5k allowed us to digitally zoom in on some of the shots and make it look like 4 or 5 cameras at times

James and Jessica are one of the most sweetest couples we have ever come across. They have an understanding based on respect and love for each other and family. They come from a family-oriented background and wanted to keep their wedding small and intimate with just around 100 guests. Every detail was carefully thought out from the white dress to the red Christian Louboutin shoes to the pink bride maids dresses to the classic tuxedo worn by the groom. It all came out perfect and we hope that it was captured to showcase the wonderfulness of James and Jessica.

On an end note, our life became so much easier because our couple wanted the wedding on Red Epic cameras and they knew what went behind them. They constantly stayed in touch with us before the wedding to make sure everything runs smoothly and understood that there could be pitfalls. Lucky for everyone, there weren’t any.

You can watch this incredible film on YouTube Channel in 4k or 1080p. Please keep in mind that you must have a 4k monitor or TV and must distance yourself from it to experience the full 4k resolution.

  • Sahil + Abha – Same Day Edit

It doesn’t take much for one person to fall in love with the other. Sometimes, it’s the similar interests or family values that brings them together or at other times, it’s the contrast that helps tie the knot together.

No doubt Sahil and Abha share lots of similaries including family values but one thing that they both share with each other are their contrasting views of “what is” and “what should be”. One of the prime examples that validates this statement is their wedding planning. Everyone wants their wedding to be amazing and have the best people involved to make it unique. Granted Abha and Sahil both wanted their wedding to be unforgettable but former a is more of a realist while latter, may be a little less

That being said, their wedding seemed like anything but fantasy. Their ceremony featured a beautiful grand theme of Jodha Akhbar but the reception was just speechless. The Arabian Knights theme set up by Dream Party Decor which was coordinated perfectly with the cake provided by Fine Cakes by Zehra and the flashy floor lighting by The LED Affair.

  • Ritu + Sumit – Official Reception Trailer

    .

Ritu and Sumit are the kind of couple one can’t help but fall in love with- simply by observing how profoundly captivated they are by each other. While their wedding was vibrant, full of colors and traditional sounds, good company and delicious tastes- it was an occasion worth celebrating because of the feel-good, harmonizing energy between the couple.

We have worked with the family on nearly a dozen weddings. Our last with them was 2 years ago, so it was a pleasure to see yet another couple in the family achieve this milestone together.

The pre-wedding festivities were warm, light-hearted and fun; Ritu and Summit truly seemed to share in each other’s shining-eyed excitement. Their creative baraat was an exceptional way to up the ante for the bride’s entrance and nervous as she might have been as she walked through those doors- her eyes never left Summit’s. Their remarkable chemistry undoubtedly provided a most satisfying ambience for the ceremony.

Their wedding was full of character, and the atmosphere one of love. Together, Ritu and Summit were celebrated not only for the spectacular time they provided their guests, but for the privilege all present were bestowed in seeing love at its best- youthful, fresh and passionate.

  • Nav + Monnie – Wedding Film

All great love stories have one thing in common, a mutual commitment, a strong desire an even more compelling drive between partners to make it worth a lifetime of being together. Nav and Monnie are a quintessential example of this. Her fierce passion for life and humanity and his calm, keen but always firm nature are the fire and Ice every marriage deserves . He is the Yin to her Yang, and it makes for a most impressive harmony between the two.

They had a beautiful traditional Punjabi wedding, replete with all of the family, food and fun to make it memorable. Their reception at Panorama was a stylish twist to the usual south asian reception. An upbeat, cosmopolitan setting provided a great backdrop for an intimate group of friends and family to celebrate the newlyweds and admire the gorgeous view.

Nav and Monnie’s wedding, much like their personalities, was a welcome balance of tradition and modernity, stylish simplicity and further, a pronounced feeling of pure gratification between the two.

Cheers to modern day fairytales. This wedding truly was their dream come true.

You can also learn about their story and post wedding reaction about the wedding dress, decor and music during an episode of The Wedd Lounge below.

  • Farah + Nadeem – Official Reception Trailer

Farah and Nadeem were no strangers to us here at Film Style Weddings, as we had worked a few times before with the family, and even had the pleasure of capturing her sister’s wedding. As many times as it has happened to us, it never seems to get old- working with a families such as theirs, relationships are gradually developed that far surpass the professional kind. These families, have a tremendous culture of tradition, support and love and the union between the two, thanks to Farah and Nadeem was heartwarming to behold for all present.

Farah was a delightful fusion between the modern bride, inspired by pinterest and all things crafty, yet there was a strong sense of respect for older traditions and practices that could be seen in many of the finer details as well. She knew exactly what she envisioned, and was extremely efficient in organizing her ideas and ensuring that her partners executed them. Her success in doing so, had a lot to do with being confident at the drawing board, but furthermore, having that confidence in her partners as well. To all brides who are in the planning stage- trusting your partners is key! With Farah as evidence, do your research beforehand and you shall be quite happy with the end result.

Nadeem was the perfect complement to her bubbly attitude. More of a technical sort, he allowed Farah to work with more of the details and prioritized the fulfillment of her wishes. He was a stylish, friendly and very personable groom. Far from uninvolved, his laid- back attitude was an invaluable asset on the day of the ceremony as it rained much more than expected. While their photo shoot was impacted, his good humor allowed all to pull through with a smile and that is exactly the kind of mindset one needs on one of the most important days of their life. Nothing was going to get in the way. If anything did…it was the constant reminder that this was a couple who were going to be happy, organized and always creative for a very VERY long time.

Their reception was full of colors and joy. The upbeat program with some beautiful performances and eye catching act by Fire Thrower left the audience breathless.

  • Destination Mexico – Franky + Neema – Wedding Film

It’s been a little while since we have shared a destination wedding with you…and fortunately, that is about to change. Recently, our travels took us to beautiful Cancun, Mexico where we filmed at the tropically luxe Moon Palace Resort as we covered Franky and Neema’s 5-day wedding affair.

For those of you who are familiar with South Asian wedding planning, you’ll know that destination weddings can be an added challenge when trying to coordinate all of the crucial, colorful often complicated particulars that are such a regular part of our wedding festivities. Somehow, (with much credit to Neema’s excellent organization skills) this destination wedding seemed to set a new standard when it came to mishap- free functionality. Both bride and groom were relaxed, nothing felt overly hurried or drawn out and the overall atmosphere was one that induced a feel- good attitude.

Neema’s vision for her wedding was elegant and understated. Their decor, wedding attire and choice of venue were perfectly flattering to her concept and breathtaking for their uniqueness.

Hear more from the couple themselves on season 2 of The Wedd Lounge. Until then, mix yourself a fruity concoction, add a paper umbrella and drink in the Cancun sunshine as Franky and Neema show us how traditional meets tropical in this wedding film
