  • Chintan + Pooja – Wedding Film

It’s always heartwarming for us here at Filmstyle to have enduring relationships with our brides and grooms. Ones that surpass the stressful details of wedding coordinating and logistics, and instead, invite us into the couple’s homes and communities and offer us a snapshot of who they are, where they come from and why their artistic vision fatedly, aligns with ours.

Chintan and Pooja are one such couple. We captured Pooja’s brother’s wedding a few years ago and that of another couple who were friends of the family. We have had a chance to interact on numerous occasions and during that time, have witnessed how these two have grown as individuals, and into a dynamic duo, as well.

During their wedding weekend, much like on every other occasion we have seen them, they were surrounded by love and lots of it. Tearful wedding toasts, special gestures and fun performances- there were a range of emotions that adorned their wedding festivities, all sprung out of awe, love and hope for the future of this loving, smart and charismatic couple.

From decor, to apparel and all fine details in between- Chintan and Pooja made sure to inject every ounce of style and creativity they shared into their special day, and the results were mesmerizing. Shimmering textures, stunning design and architectural spaces, a bespoke bridal trousseau and declarations of love that left no one in the room with a dry eye- this couple definitely had the wedding experience that is hailed by all romantic enthusiasts.

Without further delay- we invite you to take a look!

  • Simran + Garry – Next Day Edit

At times, and somewhat unfairly to the bride and groom, much attention is drawn to the business and complexity of South Asian weddings, and not a whole lot is left to spare on the bride and groom themselves. This next wedding however, was outstanding in its ability to evoke a warm understanding of the bride and groom, for even its tiniest details spoke volumes about who they were as a couple.

Classy, fun and full of heart- from attire and decor to the enormity of their wedding party- it was evident that Simran and Gary cared just as much about those dearest to them feeling included and enjoying themselves as much as they did.

A sense of family was very much felt and celebrated by all present, and the jesting and merriment did not cease for a moment. Simran and Gary were married with the greatest blessing, the overwhelming warmth and support of two very loving families.

  • Ruchi + Sunny Next/Same Day Edit – Bollywood Medley

In our 6 years of producing wedding films, we have met a wide variety of couples. Each unique, from character and personality to the style of wedding they desire, and even the finer details in between like their tastes in music.

When Ruchi and Sunny met us a year ago, they made it very clear that they are both a “Bollywood”- oriented couple. Ruchi’s personal flare easily convinced us of this, but it was a little bit harder for us to notice this trait in Sunny. His job with the United Nations did an especially good job of masking this, as it seemed to us that you couldn’t find a more humble, unpretentious guy.

We met once in person, and due to their very busy schedules, we relied heavily on Skype to coordinate throughout the year. During the course of our meetings, we also came up with an exciting concept film idea that would take us to Europe all the way to the warm Caribbean. Unfortunately, due to conflicting schedules that did not quite materialize as planned.

However, after a year of conversations over Skype, their special day finally arrived. Their Sangeet was held at the Eglinton Grande and it definitely encompassed the Bollywood-theme. Among numerous memorable moments, the event’s main highlight was unquestionably Sunny’s singing of “Tujhe Dekha to Ye Jana Sanam”- just so that he could be allowed in by his blushing bride’s family.

As Bollywood weddings go, the Sangeet heralded an incredibly fun, colorful and traditional wedding ceremony and reception. Since it was our job to capture the magic of these moments on film, we did our best to do so by employing an approach that, to our knowledge, has not been previously used.

So sit back, relax and enjoy our Bollywood-inspired special.

  • Safi + Sahar – Next/Same Day Edit

In order to produce a good wedding film, it is imperative that both the groom and the bride are involved in their wedding as if it was their passion. It makes a huge difference. And folks it’s not just about us able to capture the memorable moments but it’s primarily the people in those moments. If one is quiet and the other is chirpy, it just doesn’t translate very well on the screen.

Safi + Sahar are similar to almost every one of our couple but have a unique chemistry. One loves to crack jokes and the other loves to laugh even when she is dealing with a stress situation. That doesn’t mean that they don’t take their life seriously.

Although, we had a strong sense of that when we met them but to our surprise, they were very much like that even during their wedding festivities. We wish them all the best.

  • Liza + Basil – Toronto Wedding

You may remember Liza + Basil Royal Nigerian Wedding which was held back in October of 2010 over here.

Although, they had a pretty big wedding back in Abuja that included 2 different ceremonies and reception, Liza and Basil wanted to have a wedding for those who couldn’t fly to Abuja, Nigeria with them.

Filled with popcorn, candies, the Toronto Wedding was extremely glamourous yet somehow a mellow at the same time.
You may know Liza from Say Yes to the Dress episode. She picked her Wedding Gown from Kleinfelds.

  • Shawn + Satyma – Next Day Edit

One of our last couples of 2011, Shawn + Satyma intimate yet grand set of events took place back in November. Starting from their big engagement party leading up to the wedding day and reception, everything about their wedding had something unique to offer.

Both of them are very close to their parents, especially Satyma being the only child of her parents. And we tried to capture that in our wedding film.

Upon our first meeting, we realized that Satyma was very particular about everything while Shawn although seemed that way initially, wasn’t so much by the end of the wedding. Shawn is a very calm and down to earth kind of a guy and compliments well with Satyma who is no different.

We had a great time capturing their special day.

  • Farah + Kazi – Wedding Trailer

Farah the bride is a wedding planner. Kazi the groom is a stand-up comedian. Considering the stress and strain of wedding planning, the comic relief provided by Kazi is likely a welcome and blessed break from all that stress. (Farah must have a laugh). And in case the stress of becoming humorless ever plagues Kazi, we’ve no doubt the traumas and dramas surrounding wedding planning are inexhaustible sources of jokes and jabs. (Kazi must have a blast).

All in all, this couple is a match made in heaven.

Farah and Film-Style have often worked together. Farah, a wedding planner for Sapna Weddings, became interested in our work upon seeing it at many a wedding. We were happy to shoot her wedding as well–a gem of tradition. A traditional Bengali Muslim wedding to be exact, filled with dancing during the mehndi and followed by a visually stunning reception.

    Congrats guys and…Cheers!

  • Fahad + Ayesha – Wedding Trailer

Two words that don’t merely describe Fahad and Ayesha, but rather define them, are: calm and gracious. Film-Style’s first meeting with them was accidental, a chance run-in at a wedding show. But from that initial meeting and onwards, it was clear to us that Fahad and Ayesha were meant for each other.

The idea of an upcoming wedding conjures up a lot of images, most of them exciting and positive. But there is one less than positive element that threads its way into the most organized and the most meticulously planned of wedding events: chaos.

With all that’s going on at a wedding, something’s bound to go wrong. Take it from us: it’s inevitable. But most of the time, though the mishap tends to cause general madness, things get sorted out rather well. And the sequence of events tends to be universal: Something goes wrong, there’s a bit of a panic, and then–it’s all resolved. Fahad and Ayesha however, proved to be a couple that never panicked—not once. If they ever did, they hid it phenomenally well and not a soul was ever the wiser. You will certainly see their mutual and magic trait of calm in this wedding trailer. A three day wedding event composed of the Mehndi, Shaadi and the Valima.

    Cheers!

  • Annum + Saad – Next Day Edit

Sometimes eloquence lies in simplicity Although Annum and Saad’s wedding appeared to be no less than Royalty but their wedding was very traditional. Something we see very rare these days.

We met Annum mid last year but didn’t get a chance to meet Saad up until few months ago since he is from Boston. Although, it’s always good to meet the couple before the wedding, we learned a lot about Saad very much through Annum. And that really is a testament to their relationship.

We wish them all the best
