2016 Wedding Season is here. We have some amazing weddings lined up this year of dynamic couples. As we prepare for a luxurious wedding this coming weekend, it just seemed fitting to launch with Evergreen Bollywood Performance from one of our last year’s gem.

Witness the Evergreen Bollywood Performances at Rohit + Angelee’s Sangeet by their friends and family. You can watch their Next/Same Day Edit here

  • Prashant + Prema – Destination Wedding – India – Official Trailer

Just a few months before their wedding, enthusiastic groom Prashant contacted us all the way from Kohlapour, India to see if it was possible to hire us to film his wedding. Usually, we ask that local couples give us notice at least 9-10 months in advance of their wedding date, so Prashant’s proposal immediately sent us into an exciting trajectory of planning and packing.

It is impossible to travel such distances and not be persuaded to capture the locale, architecture and wildlife. They encompass a multitude of expressions, sights and sounds that are at the very heart of indian weddings. Prashant and his bride Prema, we discovered, were a very romantic couple and there are scenes in this official trailer that embellish it with a particularly appropriate Bollywood feel .

Due to her demanding schedule, we did not have the chance to meet Prema until the wedding, but Prashant was an impressive groom for taking the reins in organizing their ideas, communicating and coordinating with us. When we met him in person, we learned that he was a humble member of a very large family. Many of the festivities, including the wedding ceremony, were held at his home and this added a very loving, familiar feel to the mood of the events.

Together, Prashant and Prema upped the ante to the wedding weekend with a phenomenally choreographed performance at their Sangeet. Contemporary sounds fused with traditional colors and tastes- it was truly a feast for the senses. Now, millions of miles and memories away, here is a taste of that majestic weekend.

  • Alia + Zuhair – Next Day Edit

Every bride wants her wedding to be uniquely special and worth remembering. Some stand out because of breathtaking decor, others for a mouthwatering menu and then there are those weddings that are admired especially because of the love so noticeably shared between the couple and their families.

Alia and Zuhair’s wedding was memorable because it so beautifully encompassed each of these components, if not more.

Alia designed four of her outfits, including that of her wedding ceremony and reception. A hugely successful decision on her part, for she wowed all present. Her desire to do something creative was demonstrated at every event, from menhndi, to sangeet to wedding ceremony.

Ultimately, what made Alia and Zuhair stand out as a couple was their strength of confidence and attention to detail, as this Next Day edit illustrates. Zuhair’s calm, collected demeanor is the perfect balance to Alia’s bubbly personality. In our opinion, this couple had an ideal harmony of elements to make their wedding definitely worth remembering.

  • Sana + Fahad – Next Day Edit – Filmed on BlackMagic Cinema Camera

After travelling around the world for the past 5 months, we are finally back at home front to do our first wedding in Canada. Although, we had blast travelling and meeting new people, home is after all home.

Sana + Fahad are a very simple yet elegant couple. Sana’s personality lies is on the shy side, whereas Fahad’s personality falls more on the leadership side. He knows what she wants and makes sure he takes care of it. Both’s personality compliments each other very nicely which you will see in the next day edit

To add to that, this Next Day Edit, as well as the final wedding film is the first wedding to be filmed on the Black Magic Cinema Cameras. The quality of these camera is far beyond than it’s DSLR counterparts.

  • Saad + Komal – Next/Same Day Edit

The best thing about weddings is that the most unexpected things take place. At times, a couple’s friends pull off a special performance or a family member says something embracing about them. In the case of Saad + Komal, it was something Saad did at the wedding reception. And it was something so special that we made sure it was included in the next/same day edit. So we literary had 23 minutes on the mark to get at least 30 seconds worth of shots in the final edit. What did he do? We will leave for you to figure out.

Now going back to the couple. For us it’s so important to meet and talk to the couple before anything. We don’t take any steps until there is a casual discussion. And most of our couples are working either outside of Toronto, Canada or even in some cases outside of North America. It becomes difficult to communicate with them. But like I said, it’s so important that we will make sure it happens.

Although Saad + Komal are both Torontonians, Komal has been in New York for a while for work and education purposes. We did meet Saad in person but ended up skyping with Komal during our meeting. And at times it can be difficult to feel a connection with the couple and especially, when they are not together. However, there is such great chemistry between these two that it was a walk in the park. We skyped/met once and after that things were set to roll.

And what connects them in our opinion. His calmness and her simplicity brings them together. Enjoy.

  • Anurag & Arshdeep – Next/Same Day Edit

There is always a moment during our first meeting with couple that ignites the fire that will burn for a longtime. In case, there isn’t (and there are some times when that happens), nothing happens and both of us go our separate ways.
In the case of Anurag (Ronnie) and Arshdeep, the moment was when Ronnie showed his excitement for wedding more than Arsh (Arsh and I have often called him Groomzilla:) ) as well as his passion about filmmaking. And it wasn’t Ronnie but it was also Arsh’s genuine understanding of his excitement. That did it right there for us.

They decided to fly us out for their engagement event to Vancouver, BC and then of course we were commissioned to cover all their events here in Toronto.
We always get close to our couples every year. With Ronnie and Arsh, it was no different. We spent good few days with them driving around and filming their concept film The Poem plus many skype meetings and uncountable text messages.
It probably will sound cliche but truly Arsh and Ronnie are the perfect walls for each other. They are there for each other when the one or the other needs support.

Our heartfelt congrats to both of them.

  • Zainab + Bilal – Next/Same Day Edit

Every south asian wedding is filled with colours, joys and smiles all around. However, there is one portion that is very emotional and can make the girl and her side of the family to cry. Some of you may know it as Doli others Vidaai or to some it’s called Rukhsati. Different words, but all have same meaning. This is where bride bids farewell to her family.

During all this, normally, the groom side is happy as they are gaining someone special but still portray themselves as serious due to the nature of situation. Having done so many of these weddings, we have seen almost everything but never seen the groom and his side of the family in tears as well. And believe it or not that even got to us.

Wedding is composed of everything from bride and groom to decor to the hall but mostly it’s the people that make the event memorable.
Zainab and Bilal’s friends and families are simply gems. Everyone from their immediate family to in-laws to cousins all showed so much devotion and love. Each and everyone did their utmost best to make their wedding unforgettable.

And what to say about Bilal and Zainab. Sometimes, words are not enough to justify someone’s traits. And literary we are speechless.

  • Shafaq + Raghib – Next Day Edit

Shifa who has been an avid fan of our work along with her sister Nida, approached us in Fall of 2011 for her wedding in January 2012.

Having rarely done off season weddings, and meeting the bride and her sister, it was something we definitely enjoyed. Both Shifa and Nida had already watched most of our YouTube Channel and pretty much like many of our couples came to us with the mind set of booking.

As a boutique studio we are eager to meet both the bride and groom but unfortunately her fiancee Raghib couldn’t meet us until close to the wedding due to his work in Middle East but despite his unavailability, we were able to connect with him on phone.

He arrived here just few days before his wedding and we had the pleasure of meeting them in person.
Shifa + Raghib wedding festivities were full of colors and love. Both families were so hospitable as they looked after our food situation more than their wedding itself:)

At the 3rd and final day of our wedding, our entire team was a bit down because we knew it was the last day for us to see them all together.

  • Kulsoom + Hadi – Next/Same Day Edit

Late bookings are a rarity. But Kulsoom and Hadi were a couple we just couldn’t turn down.

It was their down-to-earth nature, their honesty and humility that drew us in. But even these words fall rather short of describing them aptly and fully.

The coverage began with the Nikkah ceremony held at a Mosque and was followed by cultural traditions. The Nikkah took place in the morning and was followed, at night, by their vivid Mehndi ceremony, full of colour, life and energy.

The next day was the Wedding Day. Our goal in the Next/Same Day Edit was to incorporate the getting ready footage as well as the reception entrances. And yes, we pulled it off and completed the final edit a tight ten minutes before the viewing.

  • Salman + Arooj – Next Day Edit

Producing Next Day Edits (NDE) for pre-wedding events (e.g. mehndis) is something we don’t usually do. But for Salman and Arooj we made an exception. These two shared a very vibrant chemistry, likely a result of their vibrant, fun and free individual personalities. We had to convey that sparkling energy and good cheer (the individual and the collective) so we produced an NDE of their mehndi—an event filled with entertainment and merriment, aptly reflective, we think, of Salman and Arooj.

    Enjoy.

  • Double Wedding: Zohaib + Jennifer & Shoaib + Danielle

Double Wedding: Zohaib + Jennifer & Shoaib + Danielle

In all our years of business, never before had we covered a double wedding. We were a little anxious about the challenge of it all, doing justice to the stories of two separate couples, even while dividing our attention between them. But then, we’re nothing if not up to meeting a challenge.

Still, we were a little apprehensive, having heard stories of competing brides and grooms and all the relevant drama. But let it be clear here and now that these stories proved altogether baseless with Zohaib/Jennifer and Shoaib/Danielle.

Brother grooms, Zohaib and Shoaib were very…well, very brotherly . And the two brides—Jennifer and Danielle, seemed to be long time friends, whether they were busy in the bridal room, helping each other out with jewelry and final touches, or on the dance floor, pulling each other along in their dance movements.

These two couples shone in their respective moments, and all together as well. They and their families managed to pull off a double wedding with grace, humility and laughter. Cheers!

P.S. A special *tip of the hat* goes to Abid Syed, the grooms’ brother-in-law. Abid took care of everything—literally—from planning the event to implementing it, in all its aspects, and he did it with much grace: Nicely done sir!

  • Umair + Adeeba – Next Day Edit

Every couple adds a unique flair of venue, to the universal event that a wedding is. Umair and Adeeba held their Mehndi and Valima events at a banquet hall like every other couple. But unlike every other couple, they decided to celebrate their Nikkah ceremony (the vows ceremony) in their backyard. A marquee housed the event, with close friends and family in attendance. It was an unusual venue, but no less striking than any other that we’ve encountered.

Umair and Adeeba found out about us at Fahad and Khatidja’s wedding and ever since, had their hearts set on our cinematography services. While Umair was pretty laid back (as most grooms tend to be), Adeeba knew exactly what she wanted and conveyed her ideas without hesitation. Coming from a family of five sisters, she drew inspiration from each of them and brought together multiple ideas with sophistication. And Umair, as the eldest in his family, took on the responsibility of ensuring that everything went smoothly and according to plan. These two make quite a team:)

Here is their Next Day Edit.
