  • Vadiyyan (Valleys) – Concept Film – (Filmed in Norway)

We have always been blessed to work some of the most amazing couples around the world. Whether you call it pure luck or simply a perfect connection or whatever else, one thing is certain. It would never be possible if we didn’t have thorough consultations with them.

Ambreen and Javed contacted us from Oslo, Norway to cover their wedding in July of this year. They emailed us and as always our first response before anything was, let’s skype. And that we did. We video conferenced for good 45 minutes and learned about their story, explained our side of things and so on.

That then lead dozens of email discussions and few more skype meetings. During all this, Ambreen and Javed also showed desire for using our services to a create a concept film around their story and the scenic Norway.

It took us 3-4 days to film this concept film entitled Vadiyyan and then we literary had 1 day to put it all together, so it can be shown as an introduction video on their shaadi day

Ambreen, Javed and our team literary spent 9 out of 10 days together in Norway and we had a great time. We went to some beautiful locations including their university where they first met. We did takes after takes but despite having met us for just few days, Ambreen and Javed did a terrific job in putting their creative side in front of camera. Part of it also worked because we portrayed who they were not someone else and that’s so important when making a concept or wedding film.

  • Sameera + Jagandeep – Next Day Edit

Film-Style has always had the unique pleasure of working with interfaith couples. Covering an interfaith marriage is loads of fun, not just because of the different cultural and religious traditions that are all wrapped up in one big happy package  but also because it’s a rewarding experience to be able to see two very different worldviews, encompassed within those cultural and religious traditions, become as one. It’s a ‘feel good’ kind of wedding that enables and embraces differences even as it reconciles them within the institution of a marriage.

Sameera (the Muslim bride) and Jagan (the Sikh groom) proved to us once again this beauty of an interfaith union. On July 8th, this couple held their Sangeet/Holud where their respective cultural traditions were paid tribute to “desi-style,” with a lot of dancing and a lot of performances. And on July 9th, their respective religious traditions were honored and upheld at their respective religious ceremonies, with a lot of love and respect from their families.

We wish this couple great success in the future and a lot of happy new traditions in the making. Cheers!
